01 Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Brainplayx (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile and web application (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

02 Overview: Our Privacy-First Approach

The App is designed to work fully offline without any account. You can play all puzzle games, track progress locally, and use all core features without ever creating an account or sharing any personal data with us.

Account / cloud sync is entirely optional. We only collect and store personal data in the cloud if you choose to sign in.

03 Information We Collect

3.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device (No Account Required)

When you use the App without signing in, the following data is stored only on your device using local storage (SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device.

CategoryData Stored
Game ProgressHighest unlocked level, completed level IDs per game
Lives / EnergyCurrent life count, life regeneration timestamp
Daily ChallengesLast completed date, current streak, best streak, total completed, best time
Game StatisticsPlay counts, wins, best scores, total scores, playtime, win streaks per game
AchievementsUnlocked achievement IDs
PreferencesTheme (dark/light mode), selected language
OnboardingWhether you have completed the onboarding flow

We do not transmit this data anywhere. It stays on your device.

3.2 Data Collected When You Sign In (Optional — Google Sign-In)

If you choose to sign in using Google, we collect the following information from your Google account:

  • Display Name — your Google account name
  • Email Address — your Google account email
  • Profile Photo URL — a link to your Google profile picture
  • Firebase User ID (UID) — a unique identifier assigned by Firebase Authentication

We use this information to:

  • Identify your account
  • Sync your game progress to the cloud so you can restore it on other devices
  • Display your name and photo on public leaderboards (only if your score qualifies)
We never access your Google password, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.

3.3 Data Stored in the Cloud (Only for Signed-In Users)

When you are signed in, your data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your Firebase UID. The data stored mirrors the local data described in Section 3.1, plus:

  • Display Name, Email, Photo URL (from your Google account)
  • Last Login Timestamp
  • Lives count and regeneration timestamp (for cross-device sync)
  • Daily challenge progress
  • Per-game statistics and progress

3.4 Public Leaderboard Data

If you are signed in and achieve a score on the weekly leaderboard, the following data becomes publicly visible to all users of the App:

  • Your Display Name
  • Your Profile Photo
  • Your score or win count for the relevant game

Leaderboards reset every Monday (weekly). Historical leaderboard data from previous weeks is not retained after the reset.

If you do not want to appear on leaderboards, you can either:

  • Play without signing in, or
  • Avoid the leaderboard-enabled games while signed in (Tetris, 2048, Sudoku, Zip, CrossClimb, Pinpoint, Queens, Tango, Tic Tac Toe, Ludo, Chess)

3.5 Data We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect:

  • Location data
  • Camera or microphone data
  • Contacts or address book
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, etc.)
  • IP addresses (beyond what Firebase/Google infrastructure logs internally)
  • Behavioral analytics or usage event tracking
  • Advertising identifiers
Firebase Analytics is disabled in this App. We have no third-party analytics SDKs.

04 How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect only for:

  • Providing the App’s features — syncing progress, maintaining the lives system, and displaying leaderboards.
  • Displaying your profile — your name and photo are shown in the App when you are signed in and on public leaderboards.
  • Improving data consistency — when you sign in after playing offline, your local progress is merged with your cloud data (always taking the higher value so you never lose progress).

We do not use your data for:

  • Advertising or marketing
  • Selling to third parties
  • Profiling or behavioral targeting
  • Any purpose other than operating the App

05 Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy.

ServicePurposePrivacy Policy
Firebase Authentication (Google)Google Sign-Infirebase.google.com
Cloud Firestore (Google)Cloud data storagefirebase.google.com
Google Sign-InOAuth authenticationpolicies.google.com
Google FontsCustom font loadingdevelopers.google.com

Data stored in Firebase is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Google’s data processing agreements and security standards apply. For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security.

No advertising SDKs are integrated. Ads are disabled.

06 Data Retention

Data TypeRetention
Local device data (no account)Until you uninstall the App or clear app data
Cloud account data (signed-in)Until you request deletion (see Section 8)
Weekly leaderboard entriesDeleted every Monday on leaderboard reset

We do not retain leaderboard history after weekly resets.

07 Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data:

  • All communication with Firebase uses HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit.
  • Firebase Firestore rules restrict access so only your own UID can read or write your personal data (leaderboard scores are publicly readable by design).
  • We do not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by Google OAuth.
  • We do not have access to your Google account credentials.

No system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

08 Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights:

8.1 Access

You can view all data stored about you by reviewing your in-app profile and game statistics.

8.2 Deletion

Uninstalling the App removes all local data immediately.

To request a copy of your cloud data, contact us at ljake4831@gmail.com.

8.4 Opt Out of Cloud Sync
